I understand that many people in America believe Roe v. Wade should be overturned and that abortion should be made illegal. Fair enough. But if abortions are illegal, what kind of penalties should be imposed against women who get abortions? The same penalties that murderers receive?
Leave them alone and give them counseling if they need it. Confidential medical care too because most abortions that were previously done when they were illegal were very, very dangerous, often deadly.
They have suffered enough for society’s inability to care for the needs of all of its citizens.
Let’s be consistent and give them the same penalty as other murderers get.

Excellent question. Perhaps the fine or punishment should happen to those who perform them, rather than the women who get them. I don’t really know. Making abortion illegal will cause many women to perform self abortions and that is bad. I advocate for the life of the unborn, but I honestly don’t have an answer to your question. Perhaps the answer is better education in schools, free contraception and places for a pregnant woman to go to get options. To me abortion is the saddest thing in the world, but I do not have an answer.

If Roe Vs. Wade were overturned, it would merely go back to the states (where it belongs). Individual states would then decide if abortion (and any limits thereon) should be allowed.
Personally, I think the abortionist who illegally performs the procedure should have his medical license revoked or suspended, and should a patient die from the procedure, receive the appropriate criminal and civil penalties that a court might impose.

Abortion clinics would be shut down, and women who obtained abortions illegally would be charged and put on trial. I think most pro-lifers are flexible as to the degree of punishment. Not all Christians believe murderers should be punished as severely as they often are in America.

They would be forced to learn responsibility, and that whatever happened to start a pregnancy was not the baby’s fault. This is placed on the shoulders of the father, mostly, and then the mother of the child, whoever they happen to be, or whatever the situation is. Most abortions are not the result of incest or rape. Killing a small child is very reprehensible and doesn’t right the wrong. Allot of blame should be put right where it belongs; on the ok that society generally gives to the "anything goes" way of thinking, and the selfish desires of the people involved. In the case of a rape, then the blame is completely on the rapist, who is worse than a criminal. The doctors are actually taking lives, murderer would fit the description of what they’re doing more easily than " doctor", really sickening isn’t it?

What you have to understand is that most of the people who want Roe-v-Wade overturned want this for moral reasons that stem from religious convictions.
The vast majority of women who get abortions have been mislead to beleive they are not really murdering a living human being. If they were aware of this, most women would not get abortions to begin with. Long story short, it’s a bit more complicated than a mere "crime versus punishment" issue.
The same religious convictions that lead people to oppose abortion also compel them to find ways in which women who have had abortions can morally redeem themselves. Another long story short – redemption, moreso than punishment, is a priority for anti-abortion Christians.

Of course, abortions are horrible. The most important question is how to prevent as many abortions as possible . Making abortions illegal does not work as history has shown. Humane education and assistance should be given to these young mothers to avoid further unwanted pregnancies and abortions.

If abortions become illegal, women will be forced to try and kill the baby themselves by throwing themselves down stairs or critically injuring themselves. I know of a teenage girl who found out she was pregnant but didnt want to speak to her parents so threw herself down the stairs and the baby was killed.
Many women will go to abortion centres that are in back alleys and might be a bit risky.
I don’t agree with abortion myself but i think it should be a choice you can make as some women could be drug addicts and bringing a child into that world and having the child have to learn not to be addicted to drugs is something that should never happen.
