How many of you actually believe that abortion laws are going to change on the national level?

And yes I mean more will be added or less.

Since the development of the abortion pill RU486 abortion laws are becoming increasingly irrelevant so I would expect that sometime in the next decade or two abortion will no longer be a political issue and I doubt the law will ever be changed

"Are they pro-life?" will always be the #1 question I ask about *any* candidate.

Abortion laws have changed repeatedly since this country was founded. At this point in our history we have the lowest respect for life in the womb since our founding – even then, 200 years ago, a baby in the womb had human rights after the "quickening" – that is to say, about after the 2nd trimester.

Babies today don’t even have that level of protection against their mother’s whims…

i think when people stop thinking of it as so black and white it might. thats the problem when people debate it. for instance, i dont think a rich, spoiled prom queen who gets knocked up after the dance should be able to get an abortion, while i think a person with a kid that will be disabled should be able to. if the life of the mother is in danger it should be ok. but until people against it stop making it all or nothing, its gonna be nothing. if they used the argument that we need to enforce personal responsibility instead of using the argument people who give or have abortions are murderers and are going to hell, they might get somewhere.
